Seven Socks for Seven Potters

Over Christmas 2017, I learned how to knit socks with a bit of help from the Winwick Mum Sockalong, and a lot of help from my Mum. I do not really count myself as a knitter, I am much more confident crocheting. But crochet socks do not sit right on my feet, and socks were the one thing I could see myself learning to knit for. I am now two and a half pairs of knitted socks in, and safe to say I have been well and truly bitten by the knitting bug.

2018 is the year in which I plan to reread the Harry Potter series, for the umpteenth time. A lot of my earliest memories of reading are deeply tied to Harry Potter, and I attribute my love of fiction to discovering a magical world so early on in my life. There is something very nostalgic for me about returning to Hogwarts and Diagon Alley, settling in with a cup of tea and characters who feel like old friends.

What better way, I thought, to balance my love of two types of yarns than to knit a pair of socks as I read each book? I have patterns…
